A Romantic Fall Bohemian Inspired
Styled Shoot With Treasured Heart Events

We are excitingly anticipating all things fall over here at The Nest! So when Ashlee Nicholson with Treasured Heart Events
approached us back in May about planning a romantic fall bohemian styled shoot with hints of copper and berry we knew we wanted to play a role in hosting the shoot! Ashlee and her vendor team left no detail undone, and has since now been featured in Inspired By This, a curated, collective lifestyle blog. Read on to get more insight into Ashlee’s inspiration behind the shoot and who Treasured Heart Events is!
N|1:What was your inspiration behind this shoot?
We wanted to build a shoot that played with fun, bold colors and highlighted unique textures. With inspiration from California palm trees, Sarah Burke of Gathered Floral Design and I created a wedding designed around dried palm leaves. The clean white backdrop that The Nest provided was the perfect setting to highlight our bold colors we wanted to feature!
N|2: How/ or what led you into the wedding industry?
I found the wedding industry in the most unconventional way! I was a math major in college…but weddings very quickly took my heart! My freshman at TCU overlapped with my sister’s senior year! The school year ended with my sister getting engaged, graduating from college, and signing a contract to work in Dubai! When she was getting on the plane to move, she looked at me and said, “Hey baby sister…maid of honor…can you plan my wedding for me?” The next few months were filled with thinking about color pallets, ordering bridesmaid dresses, and adjusting flower orders. During my differential equation class, all I was thinking about was my sister’s wedding! That spring, my dorm director overheard me working on my sister’s hotel block, and informed me that his wife was a wedding planner and she was looking for summer interns. I worked for her that summer, and fell in love with the wedding world! That next fall, my boss informed me she was moving to California, and she was going to shut the company down–however, she told me that she thought I had a future in the wedding industry, and she encouraged me to start my own business! Christmas break that year was filled with lots of prayer. My freshman year of college, I began going on mission trips and I had fallen in love with the families and organizations I was working with, and I knew I wanted to do something with my life that would support them! So I decided to open Treasured Heart Events in January 2016 centered around sending 10% of our wedding packages out the door to one of the families we worked with! And now, 45 weddings and 2.5 years later, I couldn’t imagine doing anything else!
N|3: What is one thing you wish every bride or couple did on their wedding day?
I wish that every couple would take mental snapshots of their wedding day! People say that your wedding day goes fast, but I truly had no idea exactly how fast it went until I had my wedding back in May! Now, I make the point to tell all of my brides how important it is to slow down and really enjoy each moment!!
