N|1: How did you both meet?
We met at work. I graduated and moved to Dallas a few months after graduation. I started as a designer with Dr Delphinium Designs + Events and Chris was working in the interior landscaping department. I was invited to brunch one day with a couple of coworkers and our mutual friend brought him. He then messaged me on Facebook saying very eloquently and romantic “gurlll can I get yo number…for work emergencies and such” my non-smart phone which meant I didn’t see it for a whole day (after we had seen each other in person again) so I made him sweat a bit in the beginning accidentally. We then went with a group of friends to Austin where he asked me out on a date under the influence of a fantastic cheeseboard and some whiskey and the rest was history.
2: How did you know he/ she was the one?
I don’t think there was a moment that I said in my head he is the one. It was more like our lives progressed naturally together than we just never looked back and could never imagine our lives without the other. It is a choice you have to make every day and we know we will have to continue to do that every day of our lives.
N|3:What is a good piece of advice you would give any newly engaged couple in this season?
To remember what this day is about. Not to let the bumps trip you up while planning, that in the end it will be the memories and time spent with friends and family.
N|4: What is one planning tip you could give couples planning there wedding at The Nest?
Our first thought that The Nest was too far away from the other venues we had been looking, we just kind of went to tour on a whim. Even if you think it is not for you or too far to give it a chance. You won’t be able to picture yourself anywhere else. We wanted a venue where we could have our outdoor ceremony in a place that didn’t seem like just a plot of grass near a venue. This place has been thought out start to finish and it is apparent that the family behind The Nest put their heart and souls into this place and continue to do so as a team.
