N | How did you meet?

J | Jared and I met at summer camp! In Summer of 2018, I was looking for a fun summer job during my transition from college to working full time. Jared has been working out at Camp Thurman for 9 years and it was my first. I would always pick my picnic table next to his during traffic in the mornings while we would wait on our kids for that day of camp. I noticed how he loved and served his campers so well, a great quality in a future relationship that I had desired for a long time. After my time at camp for the summer was done, Jared and I kept up through social media, messaging back and forth every now and then. When fall rolled around, I wanted to get to know him better so I invited him out to a fall carnival that The Porch was putting on at Watermark Dallas. It was so last minute, I didn’t think he would even come. To my surprise, he said sure and met us there later that evening! Jared and I went off and played games, talked and had so much fun! It was the start of something great.

N | How did you know he/she was the one?

J | I was only going to say “I love you” to one person. It’s a phrase that is thrown around so much these days and I wanted to save those three important words for that special person. Jared and I found ourselves one afternoon sharing our testimonies. It was something so personal for us, exposing our past and learning more about who we are in Christ. Later that evening, I felt so much peace knowing that Jared knows all of me, my past, present and I wanted him to know my future. Jared said “I love you” first and I shared the same. I was so comforted and felt cherished by him.

N | What was it like planning your wedding at The Nest?

J | Jared and I absolutely loved it! We loved their Christ-centered foundation. We got married in the middle of Covid and booked before it all started. The staff at The Nest worked alongside us to create our special day and have our vision come to life. We are so thankful for their hand, their role in our wedding day.

N | What is one thing you are glad you did at your wedding and that you would recommend to other couples?

J | Ceremony wise, we loved taking communion and having worship. It was such an intimate moment for us. We wanted our first act of marriage to be serving The Lord.

Before the wedding, we had a first look! It made me feel so much more calm leading up to walking down the aisle! Jared looked so handsome and it made for amazing photos!

N | Now that your married, how has life changed for the better?

J | Jared and I were long distance dating and engaged. So now it is so nice to have him in the same city, same house and everything! We just really enjoy doing life together!

We love you Julieanne & Jared!
The best is yet to come!
