Matt & Caroline’s wedding on December 19th, 2020 at The Nest was beautiful and filled with intentional details. Their intimate indoor ceremony reflected the couples style of simple elegance. With the coordination and design of Shannon Rose Events, touches of creams, neutrals, blush & deep burgundy began to create a sense of warmth inside, on a chilly December day. Read further to hear more of the couples story and to see some of their beautiful wedding details.

N | How did you meet?
C | Long story short mutual friends at a Navy vs SMU football game. Long story, I went with one of my friends, who was dating a Navy football player, to the SMU vs Navy football game. After the game, we waited to talk to her boyfriend and Matt spotted me across the way and later asked for my number. We started talking to each other that night and the rest is history!

N|How did you know he/she was the one?
M| I knew Caroline was the one when she came to my family’s house for New Years’ and sang karaoke with my mom. I knew if she could brave New Years’ with my family then she was the one!

C| I knew Matt was the one from the moment I met him! (Cliché I know) But something was different from the moment I started talking to Matt. Once we really started dating and getting to know each other my feelings were just more and more confirmed that I would spend the rest of my life with him.

N | What was it like planning your wedding at The Nest?
C | Planning our wedding at The Nest was amazing!! It couldn’t have gone more smoothly. When thinking of what we wanted in a venue The Nest had it all! If we could do it again we would pick The Nest over and over again!

N | What is one thing you are glad you did at your wedding and that you would recommend to other couples?

C |Churros!!!! We both love churros and had never really seen them at any other wedding. We searched for a long time to find someone who would cater churros and we are so glad we did! I guess to be less specific, we recommend doing a dessert that you both really love, it made our wedding that much more special and fun!

N | Now that you are married, how has life changed for the better?

C | We both agree that life is so much better now that we get to be together all the time!! We did long-distance our entire relationship so we are having so much fun just getting to do life with one another every day. It also helps now that we are in a new city having a built-in best friend that you have to go and explore new things with around town.
