Brianne and Derek’s October wedding at The Nest was an incredible day filled with so much joy and beauty! The day offered perfect weather to the couple for their 200 person outdoor ceremony, making for a perfect backdrop to share their love story with the world. We interviewed the couple to find out how they came together and what planning was like leading up to the wedding. Scroll further to find out how their love story unfolded.

N | How did you both meet?
B | We actually met at work in June of 2017. We both started as ER/Trauma nurses in Dallas at the same hospital on the same day and in the same cohort. We instantly became great friends and in 2019 decided to grow our friendship into a relationship. Our first date was at Leela’s wine bar and the rest is history!

N | How did you each know he/she was the one?
B | Its hard for me to explain how I knew he was the one. I just knew when I couldn’t see my life without him in the present and future, and there was just a feeling I got that I knew it was right.

D | I knew when nothing else seemed to matter more than just spending time with her and being around her. Even if we were mad at each other for something stupid I wanted to still be spending time with her and that’s when I knew she was the one.

N | What were the top 3 most important things to you both that you wanted in your wedding?
B | I wanted a beautiful and large amount of flowers, venue- white barn with outside & inside space, and a great atmosphere/party!

D | Great DJ, open bar, beautiful flowers .

N | What was each of your favorite moments on your wedding day?
B | My favorite moment was probably seeing Derek for the first time when I walked down the aisle. I felt so weird not being able to see him all day and there was just this comfort that came over me when I was finally able to.

D | My favorite was seeing Brianne walk down the aisle and finally being able to see her in her dress.

N | Do you have any advice for couples getting married at The Nest?
B | Do it!! This venue is amazing inside and out. There are so many options when it comes to ceremony location/floor plans, cocktail hour, and reception floor plans. The farm tables and furniture they offer are a huge bonus as well as the sweet, sweet staff. Not to mention the amount of different places you can take pictures that will all give a new scenery and feeling all make this place wonderful. It was hands down one of the best decisions we made having our wedding here.

D | Don’t sweat the small stuff… you’ll never know if it’s there on the actual day.
