Kerigan & Preston were married here at The Nest on Friday, September 18th, 2020! The weather was perfect for their outdoor ceremony and with help from some of the best vendors, all their plans fell beautifully into place inside the venue for their indoor reception. Kerigan & Preston’s vision of having a beautiful, elegant, but fun wedding was nothing short of perfection. Continue reading to hear more about their love story (which began in 7th grade! how sweet!) and to see how all her gorgeous design details unfolded.
N | How did you and Preston meet?
K | “Preston and I met in the 7th grade through a mutual friend. We instantly hit it off and became friends. We shortly realized our parents only lived half a mile away from each other, so we started hanging out and studying together quite a bit. Fast forward eleventh grade, Preston and I finally started dating!”
N | How did you know he was “The One?”
K| “I knew Preston was the one after he put up with me and our friendship for so long, haha! Once Preston and I started dating, we spent senior year through college together. I never once doubted that Preston and I wouldn’t get married. I think after spending so much time with someone you care so much about, you truly couldn’t imagine a day in your life without them.”
N | How did you go about choosing your vendors?
K | “Choosing vendors was SO much fun! The first thing we did was sit down a make a guest list. This helped us determine what we needed to look at venue wise. Knowing that we were expecting a large guest count, we wanted to have a venue that would be able to comfortably fit everyone. After looking at a few other venues, I stumbled upon The Nest. I remember asking Preston to come with us when we toured to get his opinion. The Nest is simply the most beautiful wedding venue that fits every décor style!
One of the most important things to me was floral. I didn’t care too much about decorations, as I wanted floral to be the focal pieces. I found Petals Couture on Instagram after being tagged in a Brides of North Texas post. I met with Emily and immediately knew I wanted her to be in charge of floral for our wedding day. The Petals Couture team is simply the best – I could not recommend them enough. “
“We also found our hair and makeup artist, Baleigh Kerr, on Instagram. I was instantly blown away by her work! I have been fortunate enough to model for Baleigh outside of her doing my wedding hair and makeup. Her team and her are such a joy to work with and made everyone feel so beautiful the day of my our wedding.
Our fabulous Photographer, Parker Chase, is based out of Houston and traveled to The Nest for our wedding day. She photographed Preston and I’s senior pictures at A&M, she took our engagements pictures and my bridal portraits. We are so fortunate that she has been there to capture so many special moments in our lives. “
K | “Our WONDERFUL coordinator was Katie Waara, owner of One Fat Dove. I found One Fat Dove through a sorority sister at A&M. Hiring Katie and her team was one of the best decisions I could have made for our wedding. I can truly say I didn’t know of a single thing that went wrong during the day, because Katie and her team handled everything before I found out. From one of our groomsmen ripping his pants seconds before we walked down the aisle to our welcome sign blowing over outside, Katie and her team handled every task thrown at them with the utmost respect and grace. Preston and I could not recommend One Fat Dove enough. They made our wedding day run so smoothly.”
K | “We are so thankful for ALL of our vendors. Reverent Wedding Films, Magdalena’s Catering, Uptown Sound, Four Strings, HD Liquid Catering, Butterfly Cakery and Premier Photo Booth. Despite the stress of planning a wedding AND planning a wedding during a Global Pandemic, our vendors made our wedding day more than we could have ever dreamt of. “
N | What is one memory that stood out to you that you will never forget?
K | “I will never forget walking down the aisle towards Preston with my dad. I would consider myself an emotional person, but I didn’t think my wedding day would bring as much emotion as it did. I remember walking down the steps outside and instantly starting to cry – hard tears but a smile on my face. I think that the nerves and worrying about COVID had finally settled and all of the feelings hit me at once. It was so special to just have a moment of raw emotional walking towards a moment I had been waiting for for so long. “
We love you Kerigan & Preston!
